About Lindsay

I’ve always been a solutions driven individual as well as someone who is passionate about serving others. I grew up in a working middle-class family and I am running for State Representative to represent you in Harrisburg because through being a small business owner, school board director, and community leader, I believe the voices of everyday Pennsylvanians go unheard far too often. We need public servants, not politicians, and I want to be a conduit for the voices of our district and amplify them in Harrisburg.

It was through a personal tragedy that I was set on a path I believe has culminated to this moment and the decision to run for office. 12 years ago, my life as I knew it changed in a moment the day my younger sister was killed suddenly in a vehicle accident. Experiencing such incredible loss and grief, I resolved to find purpose while honoring her life, and decided from that moment forward, I wanted to live a life that helped others live tremendously alive ones. My sister Jessica epitomized the concept of paying it forward during her far too short time – inspired by her, I’ve made it my life’s work to try and do the same.

I’m a single mom to an incredible 10 year old boy. In my day to day life, I am a self-employed business owner and the President and Founder of the Jessica Drew Sunshine Memorial Fund, a non-profit organization honoring the life of my sister through giving back to our community, just as she did every day. I’ve held a number of various volunteer leadership roles and presently am proud to serve Derry Township as an elected School Board Director, where I am currently Treasurer of the Board. We’ve delivered balanced budgets, responsible spending, and despite the funding shortages in Pennsylvania public education, we’ve always worked as hard as possible to reduce the impact for our constituents while also meeting the social, emotional, and educational needs of students. Additionally, I have had the opportunity to work with cancer survivors as an advocate to ensure patients have access to oral chemotherapy treatments. Not only did our advocacy succeed, we got the bill passed unanimously in both the PA House and Senate. Now, I’m ready to use the experiences I’ve gathered, earn a seat on the other side of the table, and use my voice to ensure so many other important priorities are accomplished.

For too long, good legislation – which fights for the rights, voice, and benefit of every day hard working Pennsylvanians – has continued to be left in darkness never seeing the light of day because our current leadership’s agenda does not prioritize us. As your representative I will fight to ensure all students in Pennsylvania receive a world class education regardless of their zip code, that our workers are paid a living wage and have the protections they need, and that all of us have access to affordable healthcare.

I am in this race because I am driven by the belief we rise by lifting others and that we have so much that we can accomplish together in Harrisburg if we elect legislators who care. It is far past time the 106th district had a representative who represents the interests of people like you and me. A leader who understands what it means to worry about paying bills, how we will get by if we or a loved one gets sick, and the desire to feel our children are safe in their classrooms.

All Pennsylvanians deserve to have the same opportunity to thrive. As your State Representative, I will be a voice for the people and will work tirelessly for the common good.
