Derry Township, PA– Lindsay Drew, the Democratic nominee in the 106th Legislative District, has received the endorsement of the Teamsters Local 776 D.R.I.V.E. Chapter in her race. Drew is running against incumbent State Representative Tom Mehaffie.

Ed Thompson, President of Teamsters Local 776, Pennsylvania’s largest Teamster local said “There is a lot at stake in this election. We need candidates who understand the importance of worker’s rights and strengthening the middle class. Teamsters Local 776 D.R.I.V.E. Chapter is endorsing Lindsay Drew in her race for the 106th Legislative District because she will fight to protect family sustaining jobs and our hard-won benefits.”

“I’m honored to receive this endorsement. I’m glad the Teamsters have come to bat for working people of the 106th district. I’m running for State Representative to deliver our community’s voice with integrity through service and leadership in Harrisburg. Our district deserves an advocate who understands the challenges facing our area and will put people first. My experience and track record demonstrate I am the candidate to achieve this for our district and I’m proud to have that reinforced through this endorsement. I look forward to standing with the Teamsters and all workers as our next State Representative.” Drew said.

Drew, a longtime resident of Derry Township, is a single mom, self-employed business owner and community leader. In addition to earning the endorsement of Vice President Joe Biden and U.S. Senator Bob Casey, Jr., Drew’s closely contested race for the 106th Legislative District seat against incumbent State Representative Tom Mehaffie was also named to the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee’s (DLCC) list of must-watch races earlier this year.

I had the honor of joining Someone To Tell It To recently on their podcast for a very open and honest conversation about finding my purpose through grief, the things that led me to want to get ‘in the arena’ of public service, and how one navigates life – particularly when very personal experiences because public topics, as I experienced last month when a poll released asked questions about me related to mental health and being a survivor of sexual assault. The work STTIT does to promote the power of compassionate listening is so needed in today’s world. Thank you, Michael and Tom, for inviting me to join you and share my story – and for listening. ❤

DLCC Names Lindsay Drew’s Campaign a Race to Watch

Hershey, PA– Today the Lindsay Drew campaign for State Representative in the 106th Legislative District was named to the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee’s (DLCC) list of must-watch races. The DLCC selects critical races with strong candidates from across the country to highlight on its Spotlight Races page in an effort to raise awareness and resources for critical races like Lindsay Drew’s.

“We’re thrilled to announce a new slate of outstanding Spotlight Race candidates as we head into the 2020 election,” said DLCC President Jessica Post. “We are proud to stand with Lindsay Drew and include her in our growing list of amazing candidates stepping up to run and make a difference in their communities. Since Trump was elected, the DLCC and state Democrats have flipped more than 430 state legislative seats from red to blue, elected strong candidates from all across the country, and put ten more legislative chambers under Democratic leadership. The DLCC is fired up and ready to win seats like the 106th Legislative District in November.”

“Being added as a Spotlight Race by the DLCC evidences the growing strength of our campaign and momentum that is building for victory in November,” Drew said. “June’s primary clearly demonstrated a desire for change in our district. I’m running for State Representative to reclaim our community’s voice and restore transparency, common sense, and integrity in Harrisburg. Dauphin County, and the Commonwealth as a whole, deserves an advocate who understands the challenges facing our area and will put people first. My experience and track record reinforces why I am the candidate to achieve this for our district.”

Earlier this week I proudly took the National Democratic Redistricting Committee pledge to support fair maps & end gerrymandering. Politicians should not be choosing their voters. It’s time for more transparency and to ensure our elected officials are truly accountable to those they represent!#FairMaps #EndGerrymandering ‬

There was such incredible energy throughout the PA Democratic Party State Committee Dinner and Pennsylvania Young Democrats event last night. Loved catching up with friends and connecting with so many others!

I’m proud to be an advocate in the fight to save community pharmacy. As the daughter of a pharmacist, I grew up around pharmacy and have always valued what a local community pharmacy can do for their customers. In my professional life as a business owner, I now work daily with pharmacy owners across PA helping them market their stores and help their customers.
So I was happy to attend Pennsylvania Auditor General Eugene DePasquale’s press conference today in support of a pharmacy bill package I believe in. These bills which passed the House unanimously in November, are now sitting in the Senate instead of on the Governor’s desk. This legislation will help independent pharmacy’s survive and allow Pennsylvanians to save on prescription drug costs.

I’m tired of seeing good legislation sit because the large money special interests are influencing delays- our lawmakers should be doing what’s right.

It was so great to hear from two pharmacists I know and respect greatly, Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association President-elect Chuck Kray of Hershey Pharmacy & Gift and Darrin Silbaugh of See-Right Pharmacy.

So incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of this weekend’s Emerge Pennsylvania Bootcamp Cohort with over 20 other incredible women running for office in 2020. I learned so much about campaigns but more importantly, about myself. This pin, which I will now wear with pride, represents more to me then just a training program. I now have the privilege of being part of a network of women who encourage, uplift, and show up for one another. If you’re not ready to support women, then you better get your sunglasses on, because the future of women in government is so unbelievably bright. 😎💙

Hershey, PA – Lindsay Drew, a self-employed small business owner and community leader, has announced her candidacy for the election of State Representative in Pennsylvania’s 106thLegislative District in 2020.

Lindsay has been a resident of Derry Township for the better part of the past 20 years and has spent her adult life devoted to service in the community and various advocacy efforts.

“I’m running for State Representative in the 106thdistrict because on a daily basis, I see areas where we could be doing a better job at not only meeting the needs of all residents of the communities in this district, but proactively advocating and working on their behalf.  Legislation that could bring meaningful change and protection often dies before seeing the light of day because our state legislature has become complacent and has lost sight of the issues facing the constituents they were elected to serve.” Drew said.

Passionate about issues related to education, mental health, equality, gun violence prevention, and ensuring that hard-working Pennsylvanian’s are protected and paid fairly, Drew will put her experience as a business owner, nonprofit founder, parent of a young child, community advocate, and school board director to work to deliver a common-sense, realistic, and inclusive approach to state government.

“The privilege of having a choice in who we elect to represent us is at the very core of our democracy. I look forward to spending the coming months meeting my fellow neighbors in the 106thdistrict and earning the honor of being their choice for State Representative. Being an effective leader requires integrity, honesty, and transparency. When elected, my actions will always speak louder than my words. This campaign is not about me, it’s about the people of this district reclaiming their voice in Harrisburg, and that’s why I am honored to announce my campaign of the people, by the people, and for the people of the 106th.”

Lindsay has built a grassroots campaign team comprised of individuals from all walks of life that is representative of all communities and reflective of the diverse make-up of the 106thdistrict. In addition to this support, Lindsay is honored to have endorsement by leaders at all levels of local and state government which will be announced in the coming weeks to coincide with a formal campaign kick-off event.
